Embroidered Doll Face

This is Elinor Peace Bailey's design for her pattern "Little Barock Angel "
I embroidered the face and used it for my Crazy Quilt Mermaid

The Making of a Crazy Quilt  Mermaid Fiber  Arts Doll
The patchwork panel was embroidered while spending time on a Ferry from Nova Scotia to Newfoundland several years ago.
Inspired by my very talented friend Stephanie Novatski (Novablossoms.com) and using what  I have gathered in Dollmaking know how during workshops  by  several well-known Art Doll Makers,
I designed the doll bodies with the limited amount of embroidered patchwork fabric I had available in mind, then found 2 heads I had worked on during workshops with Patty Culea but decided to follow the embroidered face designed by Elinor Peace Bailey for her small Barock Angel for  my CQ Mermaid
Finally, I added make up powders to give her face some "life' and for the Mermaids hair, I cut  narrow strips of fabric from a T-shirt, braided these and stitched many braids to her head.
Now , I will  have to decide on her name.....
