The workshop with epb in Hillsdale, NJ....

On December 8, 2006 I called elinore peace bailey at the Mariott Hotel in Hillsdale , where she invited me to meet her in her room. My friend Evelyn had told me so much about elinor ... so unique in her style , personality and various talents , that I felt as if we met before. By then I had already made so many of her dolls and read in her patterns her poetry and funny remarks woven into them...

Later, Colleen and I met elinor for dinner in the Hotel restaurant

where she shared with us her experiences in Switzerland where she had just attended the annual Bernina Conference. With sadness she reflected on the recent loss of her husband Gary with whom she had raised 10 children, some of which they had adopted...Despite this personal sorrow, elinor stayed 'on course' and followed her scheduled calendar which included the stop-over in New Jersey for our workshop and a brief visit with her son living nearby before flying home ....

The next morning, Colleen and I with elinor and her huge suitcases stuffed with dolls and patterns in my car drove to meet the SewSewDoll Club for the first time. We met in an empty store which is now AnneMarie's fabulous Yarn shop. I joined Tery, Annemarie, Evelyn, Kathy , the core group of the recently founded Doll Club , as the next new member as did Colleen...and what a nice bunch we all are !!!
