PaperClay Mermaid,design CC Athens

This little Paperclay Mermaid was sculpted during a workshop weekend at my friend Colleens Beachhouse last year. Since then she has be incubating.
The last few day's Summer heat was a perfect reason to work in my Lakeside studio to finish this little doll. She is the smalled doll I have sculpted ,she sits 6 inches tall and her tail is 10 inches long.
Her bustiere was made from layers of fabric I created , her skirt is lace painted with Luminere acrylic, her tall hat was made  from layers of Angelina fibers.
Her arms have fancy yarn fiber bands , repeated at her flukes.
I named this little beauty after her designer " Colleen", who invented the joining of limbs by using beads and fancy bead enhancers.  Colleen has published her dolls and a tutorial  in the recent
Summer Issue 2012 ofArt Doll quarterly.
